Friday night, June 13, 2008, members of the Cochranville Fire Company took Rescue 27
and QRS 27 to Lancaster County Station 5-2 (Christiana) for the first night of their Fire
Experience 2008.  While there, the children got to experience what it would be like at a
live vehicle fire and school bus accident.

While preparing for the
mock accident, at 1954 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company,
Ambulance 22 and Medic 94 were dispatched to an ATV accident on Field Stone Drive in
Londonderry Township. Engine 27-1 responded at 2000 hours and QRS 27 responded with
4 from the Christiana Fire House. Rescue 27 stayed in Christiana.  Upon arrival, Assistant
Simcox took "Field Stone Command."  The crew was informed of two patients who had
been launched off the ATV. Along with Medic 94 and Ambulances 22 and 21 the decision
was made to fly both patients. Sky Flight Care 1 flew one patient to AI DuPont and
Medevac3 took the other to Jefferson.  All 27 units returned available by 2100 hours.

Saturday, June 14, 2008, members of the Cochranville Fire Company took Rescue 27 and
QRS 27 back to Station 5-2 for the day. The children were split up into groups to visit
many stations.  Cochranville's Rescue 27 was in charge of a station which let children
spray a hose filled with foam at a mock house fire.

After all of the groups had been through the stations, everyone ate lunch.

Around 1300 hours, most of Cochranville's crews returned home, while others stayed to
help with the obstacle course.

We would like to again thank Chief 5-2, Randy Buckwalter, and the rest of Station 5-2 for
inviting us, and we hope to see them again next year!
