Automobile into a House with Entrapment

Saturday, June 21st, 2008 at 1235 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company, Lancaster County
Ambulance 5-2-1 and Medic 94 were alerted for an automobile into a house with entrapment at 860
Gap Newport Pike in West Fallowfield Township.
Chief Neff arrived on scene one minute later confirming the report with 2 patients trapped.
SkyFlight Care was placed on standby. The Chief then assumed "Fallowfield Command."
Engine 27-1 went en route with 5 at 1239 hours. Rescue 27, Engine 27-3, QRS 27 and Traffic 27
also responded. Lancaster County Rescue 4-2 was also added to the assignment to help with the
extended extrication.
To remove the first patient, the passenger's side door was popped open. After being removed, the
patient was loaded into Ambulance 5-2-1 with Medic 94 and transported to Jennersville Regional
Hospital.
To remove the second patient, the roof had to be removed from the vehicle. Once the roof was
detached, the patient was put on a back board and removed. This patient was loaded into
SkyFlight Care and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital.
Extrication was complete at 1258 hours.
All units returned available by 1408 hours.
