Assist 21 with a House Fire

At 0650 hours, Station 27 was alerted to assist Oxford (Station 21) on a house fire at 101
Hayesville Rd. Lower Oxford Twp.  Engine 21-1 arrived at 0700 hours with heavy smoke
showing. Immediately they upgraded it to a second alarm. At 0706 hours, Engine 27-1
arrived on the scene with 27-3 following shortly after. Crews from both 27-1 and 27-3
assisted with fire suppression and roof ventilation. At 0709 hours, there was an
immediate call to evacuate the building because of floor collapse, which caused all fire
attack to be handled from the exterior. At 0732 hours, Rescue 27 arrived with additional
manpower. All 27 units were clear of the scene at 1055 hours.
