Saturday, May 19th, 2007, at 1528 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company, Parkesburg Fire
Company, and Atglen Fire Company for an Engine and Tanker were alerted for a barn fire
at 526 Lenover Road in Highland Township.

Deputy 28, notified fire board of heavy smoke showing in the area, went on location
reporting a large barn fully involved, and requested the first alarm tanker task force.
Engine 28 was the first apparatus on scene to set up.  Deputy 28 assumed “Lenover Road
Command.”  Engine 27-5 arrived and was told to set up port-a-tank operations.  Engine
27-3 and Lancaster County tanker 5-2 were used to fill the port-a-tank.

Both interior and exterior attack were involved through out the day.  The main priority
was to protect the exposures surrounding the barn.  A fill site was setup at a pond on
Route 10.

Canines were rescued from the side of the barn.

Thank you to the family members of fire fighters and other fire companies that had
brought food and drinks.

All 27 units returned available by 2045 hours.
