Hay Bale Fire in West Fallowfield Township

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007 at 1453 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company was alerted for
hay bales on fire at Barkley Road and Fallowfield Road in West Fallowfield Township.
Deputy Chief Doug Lapp, was on scene. Engine 27-5 and Engine 27-1 went enroute. The
fire was put under control at 1510 hours. Shortly after the fire was put under control
there was a lightning strike close to the fire company members on scene. Some members
experienced pain and muscle tightness for several days. Units cleared the scene at 1547
hours.
