Working House Fire in London Grove Township

Sunday, May 25th, 2008 at 1908 hours, the West Grove Fire Companies Station 12/22,
Avondale Station 23, and Medic 94 were alerted for a house fire with possible entrapment
on the 200 block of Chatham Road in London Grove Township.
Chester County Fire Board advised that there was no entrapment. Ambulance 22-1 arrived
on scene at 1911 hours and reported fire showing on side "A." Deputy 22 arrived on scene
shortly after requesting the working fire dispatch which added an Engine from the Union
Fire Company of Oxford Station 21 for Rapid Intervention (RIT) and the Cochranville Fire
Company's Rescue 27 for the air bank at 1914 hours.
Rescue 27 responded with eight at 1919 hours and arrived on scene at 1930 hours. Engine
27-5 responded with 5 shortly after.
After arriving on scene, the crews from Rescue 27 and Engine 27-5 were advised to handle
Rapid Intervention and the air bank.
The RIT crew staged on the "A/B" corner of the house. Once the fire was under control at
1940 hours, the crew was told to stand down from RIT and to help with overhaul.
Rescue 27 returned available at 2108 hours.
