Smoke Detectors

Please make sure that you have working smoke detectors in your home.  Having them could save your
life.  Batteries are to be changed every year.  Each level of your home should have at least one.  They
should be placed outside of each sleeping area.  It is best not to put them within 20 feet from kitchens
and bathrooms.  They could be set off accidentally from cooking smoke or humidity.

Escape Plans

Everyone should have an escape plan out of there home.  These plans should be practiced in case of
a real fire.  Everyone should know more than one way out!  There also needs to be a "meeting place."
That is the place where the family members meet after leaving the home.  It lets you know who is still
inside.
