April 30th, 2007, the Cochranville Fire Company, Oxford Fire Company (Station 21) and
West Grove Fire Company (Station 22) met at Station 27 at 1830 hours for training.  In the
parking lot of Null's Towing a mock multi-vehicle collision had been set up.  Rescue 27
was the first apparatus to the scene and found that it was a multi-vehicle collision
involving an overturned tractor trailer.  Lieutenant 27 was the first officer on scene and
assumed command.  He requested that two more rescue trucks be called to the scene.  The
crew from 27 assessed the situation and began stabilizing the vehicles.  Rescue 21 and
Rescue 22 showed up at the scene and continued with stabilization as the first responders
from Station 27 began patient care on patient #1.  That patient only had minor injuries.

After stabilization, Station 21's crew worked on extricating patient #2.  Their patient had
been pinned between a concrete barrier.  To remove the patient, a third door had to be cut
in the rear of the vehicle.

Station 22's crew began extricating patient #3 whom was pinned under the vehicle's dash.

After the patients were successfully removed, the drill was closed by a walk around
critique of the scene.   Rob Linnenbaugh, Chief 27, was pleased to let us know that all
patients were extricated within 34 minutes from when the first piece of apparatus arrived
on scene.

After the drill, we took time to work with the equipment to get more practice.

We would like that thank Stations 21 and 22 for participating in this event with us.  Also,
a special thanks to Assistant 38, John Carbo, who assisted in the evaluation and critique
of this training exercise.
