National Certification
In 2004, the Cochranville Fire Company officers took on the challenge of pushing our active crew members towards the accomplishment of National Certification. This challenge was two fold, on one side was the benefit to the member of being recognized by a testing process of their personal training level and on the other side was the company benefits from proving to the community the members certified training levels as well as an increase in the available grant monies provided to companies with Certified Fire Fighters. Since the first phase of certification testing we have continued to urge our members to advance their certification levels. We now have members certified in Firefighter I & II, HAZ-MAT Awareness, HAZ-MAT Operations, Fire Instructor I, and Fire Officer I & II. In 2009 the company was recognized by the PA State Fire Commissioners Office for the achievement of 75% of the active crew being certified. While the training levels do not stop here our members continue to strive for improvements in their training levels to better serve our great community."
