House Fire 800 Block Gap - Newport Pike

On January 30th at 2038 hours the Cochranville Fire Company along with Keystone Valley Fire Department, Christiana Fire Company (Lanco 52), and Christiana EMS (Lanco 46) were alerted for a house fire at 842 Gap Newport Pike in West Fallowfield Township.

The fire was called in by West Fallowfield PD on patrol and the Chester County Fire board upgraded the assignment to a working fire dispatch at 2041 based on PD’s report.  This added Medic 94, Gap Fire Company (Lanco 42), and Union Fire Co. #1 of Oxford for RIT.

At 2043 Chief 27 responded as well as Engine 27-2 (DB Lapp).  Followed by Engine 27-5 (J. Kauffman), Rescue 27 (J. Null) and Engine 27-1 (Brown).

Engine 27-2 arrived on the scene at 2046 to find a doublewide mobile home ¾ involved.  Crews deployed two handlines and were soon assisted by the crew from Engine 8-2.

Chief 27 arrived and established Route 41 command requesting fire police from Station 8, Lancaster 52 and 51 to close route 41 between Highland Road and Route 10.

All arriving units sent manpower to staging and Ladder 8 was set up on Route 41 for master stream operation.

The second Tanker from Lancaster 52 was requested to the scene for additional water.  Engine 27-1 was sent to the Honey Croft Development to establish the fill site for tanker shuttle operation.

Crews worked with ladder pipe operations and several handlines to control the fire and perform extensive overhaul.

The fire was placed under control at 2139 hours with all units working.

Engine 22 (West Grove) was pulled to the scene from standby at station 27 to assist with manpower

All crews worked comprehensively and units cleared at 0002 hours.

The officers and members of the Cochranville Fire Co. would like to thank all mutual aid for their assistance as well as Honey Brook Fire Co. and West Grove Fire Co. for providing coverage and assisting in getting all of our apparatus back in service.
