Assist Oxford with a Hazardous Materials Incident - East Nottingham

Thursday, September 1st, 2011, at 1145 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company’s Engine 27-5 was alerted to respond to the Nottingham Towers Apartments in East Nottingham Township to assist the Union Fire Company #1 of Oxford on a Hazardous Materials Incident. Engine 27-5 responded with a crew of five at 1153 hours. At 1201 hours the balance of the Cochranville Fire Company along with the balance of the West Grove Fire Companies were alerted to assist on this incident. Rescue 27 responded with a crew of five at 1207 hours. Engine 27-5 arrived on scene at 1212 hours. The engine crew assisted the other units on scene with evacuating the building, while the Engine was being used to shuttle water and fill Tanker 21. Engine 27-5 hauled three loads of water to the scene. Rescue 27 was used to fill air bottles. After the vapor cloud had cleared and the Hazardous Materials Team assessed the situation, units were able to start clearing the scene. Engine 27-5 was released at 1436 hours followed by Rescue 27 at 1532 hours. Units: Engine 27-5 and Rescue 27
