Thank you for your membership interest with the Cochranville Fire Company. Becoming a member of our volunteer organization will bring you great satisfaction and provide a courageous service to our community. There will be times of excitement and opportunity to create life long friendships. Becoming a member of our fire company will take a serious commitment, determination, and dedication. This decision should not be taken lightly. We hope that you will feel compelled to become a part of our family. Below you will find membership requirements and an application, if you decide to start your adventure please return a completed application to the firehouse.

 

General Information on Memberships

Article 1 of our by laws states that; Any person of good character, being over the age of fourteen (14) years shall be eligible for election to membership. Applicants under the age of eighteen (18) years must have their parents or guardian execute a signed letter of their approval and permission which must accompany the application, along with working papers. The Cochranville Fire Company prefers you submit your application in person. This is due to the fact that we can provide information and discuss all of the tremendous opportunities ahead. Cochranville Fire Company members are present at the Firehouse every Monday night for our active crew nights from 7-9pm and every second Thursday of the month for our company meeting from 7-9pm. Or if you see us at the firehouse feel free to stop in and inquire.

 

Training

All training you receive is paid for by the company. Most training is conducted at the Chester County Fire Services or in-house. The Cochranville Fire Company typically trains every other Monday and have weekend training events quarterly. The opportunity to become a nationally certified Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) are remarkable and there are many other national and/or state certifications available. Our goal is to provide our members with the knowledge and experience to provide our community with superior service.

 

Equipment and Gear

As an active member all equipment and safety gear needed to perform department duties is provided. In most cases, turnout gear is fitted and assigned to the member. Safety is top priority and every measure is observed to assure that members are properly protected.

 

Additional Benefits

The Cochranville Fire Company offers a life insurance policy to each of our eligible members, at no cost to them. Workers compensation benefits are available through West Fallowfield Township.
