Tractor Trailer vs. Tractor in Highland Township - Gumtree Road and Acker Road

On Friday, May 18th, at 1559 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company and an ambulance from Pomeroy Fire Company were dispatched to Gumtree Road and Acker Road for a vehicle accident. Engine 27-1 and Rescue 27 made the response shortly after dispatch. Engine 27-1 arrived on scene at 1611 hours to find a tractor trailer and farm tractor involved, with heavy damage to both. Capt. 27 established Gumtree Command while the crew checked on injuries. One patient was transported to Lancaster General Hospital by Ambulance 29-2. Rescue 27's crew arrived and assisted with patient care and checked for hazards on the vehicles. After the scene was secured, Engine 27-1 returned to the station to pickup Utility 27 for traffic control. Rescue 27 and fire police from Cochranville remained on scene until Null's Towing had the roadway cleared. All units returned available at 1849 hrs.
