2012 Chester County EMS Awards - Red Clay Room

On December 29, 2011, QRS 27, Medic 94 and Lancaster Ambulance 52, were dispatched to a medical emergency for an unresponsive person. Minutes after the arrival of QRS 27, the patient went into cardiac arrest. Through the actions of the crew of QRS 27 and Ambulance 52, the patient was revived and care was transferred to Medic 94. The patient was released from the hospital several days later. At the Chester County EMS Awards Ceremony held at the Red Clay Room on May 24, 2012, the crew of QRS 27 Catherine Null, Dean Hoopes, Sr., and Nancy Astheimer along with Ambulance 52 crew Vito Vespe and Tye Weaver received the Clinical Save Commendation for their actions. President Leo Scaccia of the Chester County EMS Council presented the awards. Also, congratulations to Cochranville Fire Company’s Kim Harvey (Medic 94) for receiving two Clinical Save Commendations on two different calls and to all the award recipients at this year’s ceremony.
